Arc Cycle
2021
For the new Moscone Central Subway Station in San Francisco I used my photographs taken from the series “Moscone Center” (1978-84). Sandblasted and laser etched into large granite slabs, the images become transformed into 12’ x 10’ sculptural reliefs depicting the original Moscone Center construction in process. These panels are installed flush to the concourse wall spanning from the turnstiles to the elevator shaft. Having the opportunity to transcribe this imagery onto the subterranean façade, close to the site of their creation highlights the cyclical nature of dynamic urban change.
